This is more tying a loose end than anything else.
After former Pentagon analyst Ronald Montaperto was sentenced to merely three months in jail for handing top secret information to Communist Chinese military intelligence officers, Congressman Peter Hoekstra (Republican - Michigan 2, also Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee) expressed his dismay at the disturbing amount of support Montaperto was getting from within the intelligence community: "You would think that the intel community would set the standard for holding people accountable for mishandling and passing of classified information to our enemies" (cited by Bill Gertz, Washington Times). According to Gertz, Hoekstra also "promised a committee probe."
That's certainly enough for me to endorse Mr. Hoekstra's re-election.
